“We have met the enemy and he is us” – Pogo’s famous observation taken from a 1970 Earth Day poster - is true again, but in a very different way.
Now, our government has declared its citizens are the enemy:
• A deadly virus was predicted, and they say anybody may be infected, symptomatic or not, so people are each other’s enemies;
• The worst possible contagion is that people will question the validity of measures to stop the virus, or even question the virus itself;
• Social distancing and mask requirements limit discussion and interaction;
• Technology is being utilized to remove “subversive content” on social media platforms, the replacement for in-person gatherings;
• Facial recognition and vaccine tattoos will expose every individual who questions authority;
• Biosecurity needs override constitutional rights;
• Government edicts eliminate freedoms supposedly endangering people’s health;
• The economy is stifled to increase people’s dependence on the government, reduce free commerce, eliminate small businesses, and to increase divisions between groups;
• Minority interests are exploited to undermine social order and responsibility, adding more support for limiting personal freedom;
• Religious institutions are being made irrelevant;
• Medianites coordinate to repeat the messages that emphasize the dangers of people, as well as to encourage social shaming and reporting non-compliant neighbors to authorities;
• Totalitarian measures are accepted as in our best interest;
• Elections will be subverted in various ways, including misinformation, virus fears, violence, alternative voting methods, etc.
• Constant reminders of future health threats will make economic lockdown and limited freedom “the new normal;”
• The democratic process already is dissolving under the onslaught of authoritarian measures to preserve safety;
• Safety will be the prison of economic and political totalitarianism, the new normal (without quotes around it);

My posts have been focused on the misuse of statistics and fear-mongering, in particular, along with bad science. But the misinformation of which I spoke was calculated to accomplish the new world coming into view. China has set the precedent, and (what used to be) the free world is hurriedly following in its authoritarian footsteps.
World War III does not end with a bang, but with a whimper.
The question to you is, “What are your priorities?”
We were not left helpless without hope, but we are acting as though we were.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” And we must use all 3 of them.
