thanksgiving 2020

C0VID FB Post 2020 11 25 Thanksgiving
Thinking of Thanksgiving, it is important to remember the reasons for the establishment of this holiday. Although Thanksgiving has an historical aspect, in each moment we are to celebrate and give thanks to our Creator, the source of all our blessings, including the freedom that cannot be denied.
We do not always recognize that each person is to be a conduit of these blessings. We are not simply to consume them, but to pass them to others. We have made progress in the last 75 years, and for this, too, we all should be thankful.
Our goal, no, our destination, is the peace that passes all understanding. This is a realistic destination for each of us because it is achieved by individuals, one person at a time.
No one can give this peace, but anyone can be this peace.
The freedom to shape our own character, to be peace, is the one gift that can never be denied us.
Thanksgiving for that promise is always appropriate.
        Blessings…
